Happy Black History Month!
Our movement (like all justice movements) is built on the legacy of resistance and resilience that is fortified by Black people all over the world. If you’re Black and are looking to connect with other Black GRCA organizers, consider joining the Black and African Diaspora Caucus. For folks in membership who are not Black, Black History Month provides you the opportunity to renew your commitment to anti-racism through scholarship and community building. The Girls Rock Camp Alliance Community offers valuable resources on Anti-Racism Resources for Adult Learners and Teaching Anti-Racism to Youth. Check these resources out and feel free to add your own!
This newsletter also comes with an exciting announcement!
In these times of change and uncertainty, we think it’s important to still offer the international conference that unites us, gives us strength and helps us create a stronger movement. This month more than ever we want to embrace our Point of Unity: “Our work must be adaptable and willing to shift”. This means that although we cannot have a meeting in person, we can share our experiences, learnings and solidarity in a safe and virtual way.
You will receive more information and exciting updates soon! For now, we will share that the 2021conference will offer two weekends of programming during the dates May 14-16 and 22-24! The conference will be international so that all organizations within our movement can participate.

Update on Conference 2021:
We are honoured to announce that in 2021 there will be an international digital conference!
Over two weekends, we'll be bringing you programming, Caucuses, solidarity working groups, and opportunities to connect with co-conspirators all over the world.
Save the dates of May 14-16 and May 22-24, and you will receive more information soon!

The GRCA board has created a listserv for our GRCA members.
This listserv is for everyone ages 18+ who has worked with or feels invested in a GRCA member organization. Potential future GRCA members / volunteers / supporters who are down with our Points of Unity are also welcome to join when invited by an existing member!
This is not a space for self-promotion or advertising goods or services for sale. This means that if your offer exists behind a pay wall it’s a no go. Responding to asks for referrals and offering free resources is totally okay though. And of course, content/behaviors that do not align with our Points of Unity or follow community agreements for platforms are also not okay.
In joining this space, you acknowledge that we come from a range of backgrounds and languages and experiences. We create this as a community-based space not governed or managed by GRCA but instead held together by all membership collectively. We will move forward as such and ask all members to hold the spirit of GRCA in their hearts as this listserv grows!
Member reps will be added to the listserv in the coming weeks so you can look for an invitation from them in February. If we get to the end of February and you do not have an invite, please reach out to your member representative who will have all the information to get you on the listserv!
We know many camps have listservs operating much like we hope this will. In true Do It Together fashion we are looking to our membership to keep this listserv living and as safe as possible!
Resources for Black History Month!
In honour of Black History Month, Music Impact Network has curated a list of over 30 resources to inspire a song or project. Encourage youth you know to create meaningful songs or projects using the educational resources, videos, and audio resources available at Music Impact Network.

¡Feliz Mes de la Historia Negra!
Nuestro movimiento (como todos los movimientos por la justicia) se basa en el legado de resistencia y resiliencia que fortalece a la gente negra en todo el mundo. Si eres negrx y estás buscando conectarte con otrxs organizadores negrxs de GRCA, puedes unirte al Caucus de la Diáspora Negra y Africana. Para los miembros que no son afrodescendientes, el Mes de la Historia Negra les brinda la oportunidad de renovar su compromiso con el antirracismo a través de becas y desarrollo comunitario. La comunidad de Girls Rock Camp Alliance ofrece recursos valiosos sobre recursos contra el racismo para estudiantes adultxs y sobre la enseñanza del antirracismo a los jóvenes. Consulte estos recursos y siéntete libre de agregar los tuyos.

En estos tiempos de cambios e incertidumbres hemos decidido ofrecer la conferencia internacional que nos une, nos da fuerza y nos ayuda a crear un movimiento más fuerte. Por eso este mes más que nunca queremos recordar nuestro Punto de Unidad: “Nuestro trabajo debe ser adaptable y posible de cambiar”. Esto quiere decir que si bien no podemos tener una reunión en persona, podemos compartir nuestras experiencias, aprendizajes y solidaridad de manera virtual.
En breve recibirán más información, por lo pronto sólo podemos anticipar que las fechas serán los días 14 a 16 y 22 al 24 de mayo. Será internacional para que todas las organizaciones puedan participar.

Novedades Sobre la Conferencia
¡Tenemos el honor de anunciar que en este 2021 habrá una conferencia internacional digital! Agenden las fechas y pronto recibirán más información!
De La Red de Miembros:
La junta de GRCA ha creado una lista de distribución por e-mail (listserv) para nuestros miembros de GRCA.
Este listserv es para mayores de 18 años que hayan trabajado o se sientan interesados en una organización miembro de GRCA. Los posibles futuros miembros o voluntarixs de GRCA que están de acuerdo con nuestros Puntos de Unidad también son bienvenidxs a unirse cuando sean invitados por un miembro existente.
Este no es un espacio para autopromoción o publicidad de bienes o servicios para la venta. Esto significa que si tu oferta es paga, no será posible. Sin embargo, responder a las solicitudes de referencias y ofrecer recursos gratuitos está totalmente bien. Y, por supuesto, el contenido / comportamientos que no se alinean con nuestros Puntos de Unidad o no siguen los acuerdos de la comunidad para las plataformas tampoco están bien.
Al unirse a este espacio, reconocemos que provenimos de una variedad de orígenes, idiomas y experiencias. Creamos esto como un espacio basado en la comunidad que no está gobernado ni administrado por GRCA, sino que se mantiene unido por todos los miembros colectivamente. ¡Seguiremos adelante como tales y pediremos a todos los miembros que mantengan el espíritu de GRCA en sus corazones a medida que este listserv crece!

En honor al Mes de la Historia Negra, Music Impact Network ha seleccionado una lista de más de 30 recursos (en inglés) para inspirar una canción o proyecto. Anima a las juventudes a crear canciones o proyectos significativos utilizando los recursos educativos, videos y recursos de audio disponibles en Music Impact Network.
